Jon Carmain, MD

Jon Allen Carmain, MD, is a diagnostic radiologist at Imaging Specialists of Charleston, LLC. He joined the practice in 2009.

Prior to Imaging Specialists, Dr. Carmain was a diagnostic radiologist at Northwest Radiology Associates in Arlington Heights, IL. He completed his abdominal imaging fellowship at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology St. Louis, where he was awarded Fellow of the Year. He fulfilled his diagnostic radiology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) as well as his internship. 

Dr. Carmain earned his Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University, and his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and chemistry at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

Dr. Carmain holds an American Board of Radiology Certification and medical licenses to practice in South Carolina, and Illinois. He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America and an accomplished researcher with work published in Diabetic Medicine and the American Journal of Hypertension.
