Benjamin Mullenbach, MD
Benjamin J. Mullenbach, MD, is a neuroradiologist at Imaging Specialists of Charleston, LLC. He joined the practice in 2020.
Prior to Imaging Specialists, Dr. Mullenbach completed his fellowship in neuroradiology at Duke University. He fulfilled his residency in diagnostic radiology at the UAB School of Medicine in Birmingham, AL, and his internship in internal medicine at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Dr. Mullenbach earned his Doctor of Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia, and his Bachelor of Science in genetics from the University of Georgia where he graduated Summa cum Laude.
He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Roentgen Ray, the American Society of Neuroradiology, and the American College of Radiology.
Dr. Mullenbach has been bestowed numerous awards: the Alabama Academy of Radiology Robert Stanley MD Annual Award for Outstanding Resident or Fellow Research; the Most Outstanding Resident Award in the Section of Cardiopulmonary Radiology at UAB; and the Merck Manual Award for Most Outstanding Graduating Medical Student at the Medical College of Georgia.
Before discovering his love for radiology, Dr. Mullenbach dreamed of being either a professional athlete or an astronaut (maybe it’s not too late!). He is a huge University of Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan despite hailing from the Hoosier state, Indiana. However, Dr. Mullenbach has lived in seven states and 10 cities so maybe this explains his allegiance. Outside of work, Dr. Mullenbach enjoys golfing, exploring Charleston’s restaurant and festival scene with his wife, and spending time with his two-year-old daughter.
